"PORTAL" series

This piece was done from photos taken
while in Venice in July '02. Its "story" is
one of mystery as well as contrast. These
two sweet, old gals had just arrived home
along the myriad canals during an
overcast and moody afternoon when I
was blessed to catch them. Does the lady
on the right see something (-one?) we
can't? What did they purchase?

The overlayed image of the women is done
in much more casual and spontaneous
style which I happen to love vs. the
architectural, formal look of the
background image. What does this
comparison mean to you? Does the added
depth & "magnification" of images play
well for you?
